Happy New Year!!!
2017 was a year! There were bad months and there were good months. I travelled some. I got accepted into nursing school! I turned 30 – aaaah!!! I’m definitely getting old. I am determined to make 2018 one of my best years yet. So, in order to hold myself accountable, I’m listing my goals and intentions for 2018 here on the blog. Can’t wait to come back to this blog post at the end of the year to see how much I’ve accomplished.
Last year, I let a lot of things fall by the wayside, one of them is this blog. My plan this year is to blog at least one or twice a week. One of my major goals for this blog is to help individuals who want and plan to attend nursing school but have no idea where to begin. My hope is that this blog will be a resource for people who are looking. I also want to write about my experience of nursing while I am still a student. That way the information is first hand and authentic.
One of my biggest passion is traveling. I would travel once a month if I wasn’t in nursing school. Some Locations I plan on visiting this year are: Germany (to ring in the new year), Ireland, Jamaica, Bahamas, Mexico, Bali, Seattle, Hawaii, California, Washington DC and New Jersey. EXCITED!!!
YOGA & MEDITATION
For personal reasons, I think it would be very beneficial if I started meditating. I have always wanted to get into yoga, and being a nursing school student, I believe that doing yoga would be a great stress reliever after long days in the classroom and at clinical!
HEALTH & WELLNESS
My plan this year is to take the 80/20 approach when it comes on to eating healthy – there is a blog post coming dedicated to just that. Turning 30 was a bit scary and eye opening – as someone who works in the healthcare industry, specifically on a cardiac unit, I realize how important it is to do some form of exercise/movement everyday. Excited to begin. Orange Theory I am looking at you.
PASS THE 2nd & 3rd SEMESTER OF NURSING SCHOOL!
This is a big one! The first semester of nursing school was challenging – and that is putting it mildly. I am confident that I will do well this year. However, last semester taught me that you have to change a lot of things to excel in nursing school. There is a blog post coming up on that as well.
I have a lot of other goals – attend church every Sunday, be open to dating, and to save way more than I have been – but the ones explained above, are at the top of my list.
What are some of your goals and intentions for 2018?
