We are four days into 2016, and I am sure that goals have been set and resolutions have been made. This year I decided to not set any New Year resolutions or write down any goals. I obviously have goals I want to meet by the end of the year. However, I am really bad at following through with resolutions, so I decided to pass on them this year.
However, if there is one thing that we can all relate to, it is stress. We all at one point or another experience some form of stress. So this year, instead of the usual goals and resolution listing, I’ve come up with 25 ways to be positive in the New Year to help us live a more positive and stress free life.
- Credit yourself for strengths and accomplishments.
- Get a full night’s rest.
- Get up earlier.
- Plan ahead.
- Stop procrastinating.
- Be flexible.
- Think before you act.
- Set priorities.
- Talk less – listen more.
- Set clear goals.
- Avoid negative people (big one).
- Stop negative self-talk (bigger one).
- Think positive talk.
- Manage your time wisely.
- Be optimistic.
- Keep a Journal.
- Say no more often.
- Take some time off.
- Know your limits.
- Indulge in a spa day now and then.
- Eat healthy.
- Go out with your friends/family.
- Believe in yourself.
Life is too short to live a stressful life. Take a breath! Make 2016 a stress free year. I am not saying setting goals and resolutions are a bad thing. If those work for you, by all means, go ahead and set them. I would also follow the above list to live a less stressful life!
